addalingua uses AdWords and Remarketing Lists features of Google Analytics for advertisers. addalingua and Google use first-party cookies (such as Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to inform, improve, and optimize site performance as well as to serve ads based on your past visits to our website. This means that vendors including Google will display addalingua promotional material on other sites you visit across the Internet.

You may op-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertisers including AdWords and op-out of customized Google Display Network ads by visiting the Google Ads Preferences Manager. To provide website visitors more choice on how their data is collected by Google Analytics, Google has developed an Opt-out Browser add-on, which is available by visiting GoogleAnalytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to enable you to opt out of Google’s programs.

You can also disable cookies entirely on your computer by following the specific instructions for your browser. Please note that disabling cookies my negatively impact the performance of some web pages.

addalingua online platform for customers

addalingua uses Canvas, a secure online learning management system created by Instructure, as the delivery platform for customers (Licensees). The privacy policies of Canvas cannot supersede the directives outlined by the Privacy and Program License granted by addalingua (Licensor) to customers. By signing the Master License Agreement, as is required for all customers, customer is explicitly agreeing to the terms contained in this Privacy Policy. (See below for Canvas privacy links.)

Ownership of Client Data.  All Client Data (defined below) shall be and shall remain the sole and exclusive property of Licensor.  For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Client Data” means all electronic data transferred to Licensor via the Platform for the performance of the Program about the school, the students, or their employees that Licensee or any “Authorized User” (See definition in Master License Agreement).  Client Data does not include aggregate, de-identified information based upon Client Data (“Aggregate Data”), which cannot be used to identify any identifiable individual, and which Licensor shall be permitted to create and shall own.  Licensor will not share Aggregate Data that identifies Licensee or the specific location of the Licensee. Licensor may share data that groups Licensee by region or program type.

Collection, Access, Use, and Disclosure of Licensee Data.  Through the Platform, Licensee may input, and Licensor will collect, student assessment scores and may collect demographic information about Licensee’s students, solely as provided by Licensee and its Authorized Users.  Licensee is solely responsible for the content and accuracy of the Client Data.  Except as otherwise set forth in the Master License Agreement (“Agreement,”) Licensor will not access, use, or disclose to third parties the Client Data other than as necessary to implement the Program as requested by Licensee and to evaluate and demonstrate the effectiveness of Licensor products and services including its language software program(s).  Licensor may disclose Client Data to third parties only in accordance with the terms of this Agreement and: (a) to further the purpose of the Program, provided the recipient of any such disclosure is prohibited from further disclosing the Client Data unless done to allow or improve the operability and functionality of the Program within Licensee’s school and such recipient is required to comply with the non-disclosure and security obligations contained in this Agreement; (b) to ensure legal and regulatory compliance; (c) to respond to or participate in the judicial process; (d) to protect the safety of the Platform’s Authorized Users, or others, or the security of the Platform; or (e) to a third party service provider, provided such third party service provider is contractually prohibited from using the Client Data for any purpose other than to assist in implementing the Program on behalf of Licensor, is prohibited from disclosing Client Data to others, and is required to implement and maintain security practices and procedures no less stringent than those in the Agreement.  For clarity, and notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Agreement, Licensor will not use Client Data to engage in targeted advertising to students of Licensee, and will not sell individually identifiable student data to any third party for any purpose, other than in connection with a merger, or the sale of all or substantially all of Licensor’s assets, and provided that the purchasing entity shall remain bound by the Agreement with respect to the use and safeguarding of Client Data.  Upon request, Licensor will provide Licensee with a list of its third party service providers who may have access to Client Data.

Research.  Licensee acknowledges that, in addition to delivering the Program Materials and Program Services, Licensor may use the Client Data for purposes of research in order to improve instruction, as it relates to Licensor’s products, provided any such research, and the use of such Client Data for the same, is in accordance with Title 34 CFR 99.31(a)(6).  In the event of such research, Licensee and Licensor will enter into a separate written agreement, as required pursuant to federal regulations.

Security.  Licensor shall implement and maintain reasonable security procedures and practices, appropriate to the nature of the Client Data, and implement commercially reasonable and appropriate physical, technical, and organizational measures designed to secure any personally identifiable information provided by Licensor pursuant to the Agreement from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, Licensee acknowledges that Licensor cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat those measures or use personally identifiable information for improper purposes. Licensee understands and acknowledges that all information and data given on the Canvas Platform is controlled by Canvas. Licensor is not in control or liable for the security measures of the Canvas Platform.
